Drivers are being told to expect delays.
Commuters in Lanarkshire are being warned of travel delays on the M80.
Traffic Scotland reports that one lane is closed between southbound junctions five (Auchenkilns Junction) and six near Cumbernauld. It is understood that police are currently at the scene after the incident was reported at around 7.40am on Monday, May 25.
Drivers are being told to expect delays of 18 minutes.
A spokesperson for Traffic Scotland said: “M80 Junction 6-5. Lane 1 (of 2) closed Southbound due to a police incident.
“Emergency services are at scene. Approx. 18 minute delay for Southbound traffic.”
“Approx. 5 minute delay Northbound.”
