Travel warning issued as Ebola-related flight restrictions introduced

London travellers using Dubai as a transit hub for long-haul flights have been warned about new travel restrictions in the United Arab Emirates.

New travel restrictions are in place for flights through the UAE.

Passengers who have recently been in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, or South Sudan will not be allowed entry into the United Arab Emirates unless they have spent more than 21 days outside those countries.

Emirates airline issued the advisory and has asked travellers to check the latest entry requirements for their destination.

An Emirates spokesperson said: “The entry and transit restrictions apply to all travellers, even those arriving by indirect routings.

“Travellers who are transiting through the UAE are required to comply with the travel entry measures of their final destination.
