Etihad offers free medical travel insurance to visitors to Abu Dhabi – Wanderlust
Launched in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) Abu Dhabi and the National Insurance Company (also known as Daman), Etihad’s new initiative aims to make visiting the UAE capital easier for travellers.
Antonoaldo Neves, group chief executive officer of Etihad Airways, added: “Giving comprehensive medical insurance with every eligible Etihad ticket means our guests can focus entirely on experiencing the extraordinary Emirati hospitality Abu Dhabi has to offer.
“This is what it looks like when an airline and a destination truly invest in their visitors.”
Travellers using Etihad’s complimentary Stopover Programme to spend time in Abu Dhabi are also covered for the duration of their stay. The carrier hopes that the new initiative will give travellers one less thing to think about and one more reason to book.
This announcement follows the resumption of all air traffic operations in the UAE by the General Civil Aviation Authority at the beginning of May 2026, after restrictions were imposed earlier in the year.
