East Yorkshire shopping vouchers scheme to encourage green travel

People who walk, cycle or use public transport in East Yorkshire are being offered reward points that can be exchanged for shopping vouchers.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has developed an app called BetterPoints that users can log when they travel without using their car.

Points can be redeemed for vouchers that can be spent in local stores, high street chains and online shops.

Alternatively, the points can be donated to local and national charities.
