Craft group celebrates walk to school week with display outside primary school

The campaign saw pupils encouraged to walk, wheel, cycle, scoot or park and stride to school every day of the week.

Menston Primary School head teacher Marie Wilson said: “The display beautifully captures our much-loved crossing patrol lady, Zoey Meredith, alongside local children, highlighting the importance of safe, active travel to school while celebrating a well-known and valued member of the community. The installation has already brought a lot of joy to families walking to school this week and is a fantastic example of community creativity and engagement.”

The Menston Yarnbombers are a local craft group renowned for brightening the village with intricate, large-scale knitted and crocheted street installations.
