The 10 Lion members from Great Yarmouth travelled to Rambouillet over the May Bank Holiday weekend to where their club is twinned.

The special occasion marked half a century since both clubs formally united.

The pair signed a Friendship Charter in 1976, beginning a relationship that has grown from the formal agreement into a friendship built on shared values and mutual respect.

Since then, both clubs have communicated and worked closely, strengthening their ties and communities.

The Lions Club of Rambouillet welcomed the Great Yarmouth visitors into their homes.

There was also a visit to Saint-Germain-en-Laye to tour its historic château, a river cruise along the Seine in Paris, and a farewell brunch.

Club twinning within Lions International creates opportunities for members to build international friendships, exchange ideas, and learn from each other’s approaches to community service.

International connections also aim to bring fresh ideas to benefit local communities.

According to the club, twinning offers cultural exchange, and reinforces service beyond borders.
