Bank Holiday GWR trains cancelled between Chippenham and Bath Spa

People planning to travel by train across the West this Bank Holiday weekend have been “strongly advised” to check before they set off as some disruption is forecast.

Engineering works will see the line closed between Chippenham in Wiltshire and Bath Spa in Somerset on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Replacement buses will be put on.

As a result of the line closure, trains between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads will also be impacted. Some will travel only as far as Swindon or Chippenham, or as far as Bath Spa in some cases, while others will not run at all.

Great Western Railway (GWR) said: “Passengers are strongly advised to check their journeys before travelling.”
