79-tonne abnormal load to cause delays on A14
The two abnormal loads will be travelling on Tuesday, June 9, with the first load being an excavator, used for digging, lifting and demolition.
It will leave at 12pm and travel from the A12 Wickham Market layby to Sizewell Gap.
This abnormal load weighs 79 tonnes, is 20.5 metres long and is 3.8 metres wide.
The route it will follow includes the A12 Essex Border, A14, A12, B1122, Lover’s Lane and Sizewell Gap to the site.
It will be escorted by one police unit and one self-escort vehicle.
The second abnormal load is a drilling rig and will be leaving at 2pm on Tuesday.
It will be travelling from the A12 Wickham Market layby to Sizewell Gap.
It weighs 61.5 tonnes, is 2.7 metres wide, and 23.5 metres long.
This abnormal load will follow the route A14 Cambs Border, A12, B1122, Lover’s Lane and Sizewell Gap to the site.
It will be escorted by one police unit and one self-escort vehicle.
