Foreign Office takes Israel off its no-travel list

The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) no longer advises against all travel to Israel and Palestine.

The no-travel warning has been in place since February, when the FCDO expanded its all-but-essential-travel warning to the whole of Israel, just ahead of the US/Israeli strikes on Iran.

In an update issued on Wednesday afternoon, it said: “FCDO no longer advises against all travel to Israel and Palestine but continues to advise against all travel to Gaza, parts of the West Bank and parts of northern Israel and the occupied Golan Heights.”

Most of country is now listed as ‘green’ under the FCDO’s classification system, which means travellers should consult the FCDO’s advice before departure.

Last week, Wizz Air became the first European budget airline to resume flights to Israel.
